The Delivery Story

Miss Teagan Nell Jones arrived at 12:02 PM on May 16th, 2008. The story goes as follows....I was certain that I would go into labor before Friday. I just had "that feeling". :-) I also started having decent contractions Thursday evening - they were 10 minutes apart for at least 3 hours. They subsided after I went to bed around 10:30. I got up at 3:30 to take a shower before we left for the hospital. Of course we never get out of the house on time, so we arrived at the hospital just a smidge past 5 AM. We got into our room about 5:20. Pitocin (no idea if spell check will get that one) was started at 6:15. I asked the nurse when I could get my epidural - she said that whenever I wanted, but people typically waited until their water was broken. I was very hesitant on waiting due to my contractions the evening before, but decided it would be okay. The pitocin was increased at 7:30 and 8:05. Dr. Parks showed up at 8:10 and said I was dialted at a 3 (which is where I was at the week before) and 89% effaced - she then broke my water. The pitocin was increased at 9:33 and I was @ at 5...increased at 10:05 and I was @ a 7 at 10:45 and then @ a 10 at 11:35.....the nurse called Dr. Parks and after 7 (that's what we counted) pushes we had Teagan. All 20 inches and 8 pounds 11 ounces of her! Below are just a couple pictures. I actually have some really cute ones of her being weighed and her foot prints being done, but Timbo didn't think about asking the nurse to cover of Teagan's nether regions....so I couldn't post those.
